Try to provide incentives for doing good work. Sure, you pay them to do their jobs, but a little extra motivation doesn’t hurt anything. When employees exceed expectations, make sure you offer praise and a reward. A good leader isn’t cheap.

You don’t want to ever think that your team members are able to know what you’re thinking. Leave the lines of communication open and explain exactly what your expectations are for every project. Be available to support and assist all of your employees.

Own up to your mistakes. Even good leaders make errors. The great leaders are the ones who can own their mistakes and work to fix them. It shows you are human and flawed, just like everyone else. Showing vulnerability will bring people to your side.
